The FAFSA Data Service Is Open

October is FAFSA Completion Month, and the FAFSA Data Service is open! Use your Secure Link for FAFSA Student Data.

What is FAFSA Completion Month?

Each year, Ohio’s postsecondary students miss out on available financial aid because they do not complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which opened on October 1. To support families with college students, Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor John Husted have recognized the month of October 2020 as FAFSA Completion Month and encouraged families of graduating high school students to complete a FAFSA application.

What is the FAFSA Data Service?

The FAFSA Data Service is designed to help high school counselors identify those students who have not filed a FAFSA form and better target counseling, filing help, and other resources. Starting each October, the FAFSA application data is updated weekly with new applications that have been submitted or completed. The Management Council, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, has worked to provide the Ohio FAFSA Data Service at no cost for all Ohio public districts and community schools.

How does a high school counselor access their district’s student FAFSA application data?

High school counselors can access their FAFSA applications through their secure link. Have questions or need more information? Please visit FAFSA Data Service Training and Support or contact support@ohio-k12.help.

We’re happy to help Ohio achieve 100% FAFSA application completions this year!
